Computer Doctors of Maine, Inc. Active Member in Electronic Data Extraction Network PDF Print E-mail

OCTOBER 2009:  PRESS RELEASE

Computer Doctors of Maine, Inc.  has been accepted to join the Electronic Data Extraction Network. We are the first, and only, member in Maine.   Our role is to assist clients by securing, extracting and processing electronic files for use in investigations and litigation. We provide technically and legally informed service, consultation and expert testimony to law firms, governments, corporations and private parties.

EDEN-Logo-New---Yellow-PotThe Electronic Data Extraction Network is a national community of professionals working in a wide range of e-discovery related industries, including information technology, law enforcement, legal services and government groups.  EDEN offers experienced, tested, standardized computer forensics and electronic discovery support to a wide range of corporate and government clients.

Our partnership is mainly focused on data extraction and forensics.  For example, we can image electronic media, such as hard disk drives in desktop and laptop computers, mobile telephones, PDAs, thumb/flash drives and other external devices. “Imaging” media includes preparing bit-for-bit forensic images of the data, which retains all deleted and slack/free space as well as all sensitive metadata. In addition, Computer Doctors of Maine, Inc. is available to extract select electronic data from a variety of sources, including file servers, email servers and workstation computers. We use the highest level of forensic hardware and software to retain important metadata.

Three New Websites Launched! PDF Print E-mail

Computer Doctors of Maine, Inc., has launched three new websites this month for our customers.  All utilize our customized Content Management System technology powered by Joomla!  What is more exciting is that there are several more coming soon.  More businesses recognize that old-school web design provides a high expense and little value; instead they choose our custom solution to harness the power of database-driven sites that provide simple maintenance, functional design, seo optimization, and customized content.

  • MAINE WOOD TREATER (http://www.mainewoodtreaters.com): Maine Wood Treaters is a family owned wood pressure-treating business in Maine.  They specialize in treating and selling products to commercial clients.  Their web-presence is an important first step in building a digital infrastructure for distributing information, maintaining customer relations, and ultimately processing orders.

  • Danielle Ann Millican, Inc. (http://www.danielleannmillican.com): Danielle Ann Millican, of New Jersey, was referred to Computer Doctors of Maine, by Michael Hoye (Hoye & Partners), former VP at Colgate.  Danielle had a unique challenge of finding a simple and effective way of presenting hundreds of collector prints outside of her gallery.   Computer Doctors of Maine, used our Joomla! powered solution and a customized e-commerce platform to deliver a web based catalog of the art work.  Danielle's collector items are mostly rare prints that range from a few hundred dollars to thousands.

Website: Promotional Tool or More? PDF Print E-mail

Michael McLaughlin from BusinessKnowHow.com wrote a fascinating article about four myths that could be hurting your sales. They focused on how to attain and retain clients. Among those four myths was one titled "Website is just a promotional tool."

According to Mr. McLaughlin, a website essentially a virtual handshake that potential clients engage in, even after a referral; meaning it is the first impression. Therefore, a website must be integral to any customer relationship strategy as it will help introduce you (and your company) as well as re-enforce your committments. When building a website, it is important to provide content that goes beyond the generic marketing and mission statements and dives deep into your methods, so that clients can develop a richer understanding of your company.

There are many ways to open up the cyber-doors and allow clients, and potential clients, to better understand your company. We believe that among useful content should be a well developped blog. The Huffington Post Complete Guide to Blogging is a useful book that can help you understand the value, means, and methods of blogs.

In a nutshell, blogs are informal, impulsive, and effective means of communciating ideas. ironically, they break down the barriers and increase intimacy in a world in which it is more common to text across the room than to yell. Furthermore, good blogs allow authors to easily publish information on the move, recording ideas when they are most raw. For your clients, they offer a way to better understand you. Obviously, we see the value of this and all of our developed web sites operate on a blog centered architecture.
