The Computer Doctors of Maine, Inc., Web Services are designed to be turnkey solutions for your small business. That means that we'll do the work for you in all issues related to web hosting. Realistically, things are not as simple as putting a site on a server. Our services span the entire scope of the procedures to ensure your site works efficiently, and so does the rest of your network. Here are some things we work with that simply make our services different: Domain Name Services: First we'll help you register a domain name if you need one. Second, we'll manage the records to route web traffic and mail traffic to correct servers. Sure, that sounds standard - but it is far from it. You see, even though web hosts provide POP3 mail services, if you have an Exchange Server, that's the last thing you want to do. We'll make sure to route all communications to the right places. Web Hosting Services: Once your domain name is managed and under control, we'll upload your site for you, and make sure all forms and services work correctly. We do the work - so you do not have to. Web Development: Our portfolio features websites that range in size and character. However, in 2008, we are offering a new service line that will replace all prior custom web work. Starting January 2008 Computer Doctors of Maine will only offer feature rich websites powered by our preferred content management solution (Joomla). Even though our websites now come standard with blogs, polls, public/registered user site access, news, RSS feeds, popular link systems, and much more - they are far more affordable than any sites we've previously designed.

 As of 2008 our web development services are based on an open-source content management system. In fact, our whole website (and those listed in our web portfolio on the left side of the screen) are all powered by this amazingly powereful system. Our basic (check details) development package, which fits almost every one of our typical web customers, is only $450.00 plus $99.00 per year in hosting. Typical turn-around time is less than a week... giving you a website that's similar to our own - but with your own colors, theme, and personality.
The phenomenal part of the system is the back-end of the site and how flawlessly it can deliver content to your customers. We'll help you choose from an array of extensions/modules to include in your site - from a library of about 1500 GNU and Commercial licensed applications - and deploy them for you. At the end of the project you will receive a welcome packet with simple instructions that will let you manage your content.
Managing your own contentmay not immediately sound appealing to some, because most that have tried to manage their own content have found it tedious and complicated. Not with our system. Instead, every "article" on the page has an edit button (assuming you log in as an editor/author on the main page) and with one click you get a simple editor that lets you change text. Submitting any article is simple and easy as well.
If you want additional help we offer inexpensive maintenance for your site to help you manage it effectively. We'll do the difficult stuff and provide you with ideas, consultations, and implementation while you simply worry about the text. This package contains everything stated in "Level-1" plus upgrades and updates to Joomla CMS system. When the Joomla community releases a patch or an upgrade it often contains important security updates. Sites with vaulnrabilities are prone to attacks, which is critical to maintain the latest Joomla version. With Level-2 support you will receive backups, testing, and deployment of all the latest patches.

If you want assistance beyond Level-2, and would like our support for your site, than Level-3 is the choice for you. You will receive hosting, upgrades, as well as our technical assistance in implementing modules, plugins, components, etc.
